Packaging is part of the product decision

For a cultural or heritage-inspired collection, packaging sets the first expectation. It can explain the product story, make the assortment easier to display and give a private-label project a consistent point of view. Start by deciding what the packaging must do for your customer: protect, present, explain, organize or support gifting.

Use the Customization page to frame the options, then attach the product URLs and images that the packaging must fit.

Build a practical packaging brief

  • Product name, reference URL and intended assortment.
  • Packaging format or display context.
  • Logo, brand name and required placement.
  • Color, pattern and typography direction.
  • Insert, care card or story copy direction.
  • Destination-market language and compliance questions.

Show the front, back, side and open view whenever possible. A simple reference board helps everyone see where the logo, story and product information belong. Keep “must have” elements separate from inspiration so the supplier can identify what needs a new sample or mockup.

Private label means consistent approvals

Private label projects usually involve more than adding a logo. The product name, hangtag, insert, outer packaging, barcode or retailer information may each have their own approval path. Decide who supplies the final artwork, who approves copy and who signs off the proof. Store the approved files in one folder with clear version names.

Buyer note
Destination-market labeling, claims and documentation must be checked for the actual market. Do not treat a general packaging example as legal advice or a confirmed certification.

Review the mockup like a customer

Check whether the logo is legible at the expected shelf or screen distance. Review contrast, translation, product naming, story length and the order in which information appears. Place the mockup beside the physical product or a trusted product image to check proportion. If the packaging is intended for gifting, verify how the item is opened, stored and presented after purchase.

Ask for a current quotation

Packaging can affect the commercial scope. Ask MYSSC to confirm the current impact of artwork preparation, printing, inserts, assembly, packing and destination shipping. Request the quotation against one written brief so product and packaging decisions are evaluated together.

Packaging checklist

  1. Is the product and packaging relationship clear?
  2. Are logo files and copy supplied in a reviewable format?
  3. Are required languages and destination questions listed?
  4. Is the proof owner identified?
  5. Are open commercial items marked for confirmation?
  6. Is the final approval version stored and dated?

FAQ

Can MYSSC help with packaging ideas?
Share your product references and brand direction through Contact Us so the current scope can be discussed.

Should packaging copy be finished before sampling?
Draft direction helps early review, but final copy and required information should be confirmed before approval.

Can one package fit every product?
That depends on the assortment. Ask for a product-specific review rather than assuming one format works across the range.
